I always hesitate when asked to describe how the Sumatran tastes because my first reaction is to say, "like the earth". While an accurate descriptor, I fear this sounds too loopy and will dissuade you from giving it a try. Sumatran coffee boasts a complex profile with notes of chocolate, citrus, fresh tobacco and peat moss (i.e. earthy). These may not be the tasting notes you think you want in your cup, but, trust me, they create a wonderful coffee.
